For this work I decided to revisit an old illustration I made years ago: a Spacewindrose for space travellers. (Swipe to see the old drawing.)
It was the time I was drawing a lot of Spacelighthouses, a symbol I made about strength and life focus.
Since the lockdowns began I got a creative block, I still have a xilography in stand by, a project I started months ago...
I needed then to find a new way to keep my hands creatively busy. I got inspired after seeing the beautiful works of the illustrator and comic artist Kalina Hristova Muhova (check her works!)
I've never thought that embroidery could have so much potential! Amazing! It's another fascinating world.
After that I started watching hours of YouTube tutorials, practicing simultaneously...I still have a LOT to learn, but I'm also satisfied with my outcomes.
